Introspection
Mental Health Zine

Introspection Zine is a typographic and editorial response to the emotional process of discovering neurodiversity in adulthood.

About

Drawing on the Romanticism movement and the political urgency of riot grrrl zines, the project examines how introspection prompts a revaluation of personal history. Nature is used as a metaphor for complexity, growth, and retreat, reinforcing the slow and non-linear experience of self-reflection. Organic tendrils extend from letterforms, visually mirroring the branching, evolving thought processes behind late-diagnosed identity. Influenced by studios such as Wolfe Hall and A Practice for Everyday Life, key autobiographical phrases are isolated and emphasised through considered typographic layout, creating a raw and emotionally resonant visual language.
